Knowing your heart will be cared for @ last.

Conditioned to haul any burdens in the rear
Acknowledged for the beauty within
Brighter days and smiles reappear
Mutual feelings for a mate whose your true friend.

Daily sunrises blinding an eye once patched
Elated about a vow now endowed
Love viruses you weren’t afraid to catch
It’s a blessing from above so don’t ask how..

Memories picked out of afros to cope
Testimonial hymns for all believers to listen
Surrendering to authors w/ the “Audacity of Hope”.

Multiple rainbows of races secreting sanctions
Pardoning partisan positions of power
1st amendment raising decibels for an advantage
Historic choices about to be made in the 11th hour.

Able to walk on a warfare once classed
Sunshine blinding thieves creeping @ night
Regurgitating crows Jim couldn’t fast
Exercising my right is only right…

Digging plots for another’s fortune

Conceit concealed during the darkest hour

Tail wagging as u pretend to be his best friend

Suggesting doggy-style so u can bark louder.

 

Tramp tendencies unable to scratch

Thinking you are the pick of the litter

Malicious menstruations bleeding on your catch

Unrepentant about the prey you left bitter.

 

Back in the kennel licking away the “Lady”

Nibbling on ‘Benjamin’ biscuits stored

Polka dots  removed might be the remedy

Even though u can’t tame something…

That walked on all 4s..

Extended arms for times of despair

Sparing no expense despite the fact

Formative years muting a  inner voice in its lair

Curbed anxieties so a hand doesn’t retract.

Unconditional love baselessly bestowed

Hindsight rectified in the process

Starving after a steady diet of crow

Operational defining acts of unselfishness.

 

It’s not easy..

 

Smiling knowing its reciprocated

Devoting resources to jump-start another’s handicap

In the midst of constructing a bridge
